Arsenal continues to move to the top of the English Premier League, and it is up to the team to stay there until May 14, when the postponed match between Tottenham and Manchester City is scheduled. With four wins for Manchester City by the end, Arsenal can’t become champions, but ‘The Gunners’ must win their three games and hope for a mistake from Pep Guardiola and his boys.
In the first of the final three games, Arsenal welcome Bournemouth home. The hosts have a pretty good record against “The Cherries” in the English Premier League. At the end of September, “The Gunners” quite easily reached a 4-0 success at the Vitality, winning both halves, in which they scored a penalty.
Arsenal will likely emerge victorious from the clash in London again today. In their last home game, the Gunners ran over Chelsea 5-0, and last Sunday, they won the North London derby against Tottenham. However, in that game, we saw a slight hesitation, which was caused by David Raya’s mistake for Romero’s direct goal. Spurs scored even once again for 2-3, but Arsenal held on their lead until the final whistle.
Bournemouth has had its strong and weak periods throughout this season. At the end of April, the Cherries started a new winning streak, and at this stage, it includes two consecutive wins. Wolverhampton were thumped 1-0 away, and a week ago, Bournemouth had no difficulty in beating Brighton 3-0 in a classic.
Many expect Arsenal to win all three of their games by the end of the season, and that is well likely to happen. The Gunners’ schedule is now much more relaxed, and with a week to rest between games, we will probably see the best of Mikel Arteta and his players on the pitch. Arsenal is the team with the most wins in the English Premier League, having led at half-time, and so far, has never been down at the break. We have seen early goals for Arsenal in their previous two league games, and despite the good form shown by Bournemouth, the match looks like a foregone conclusion.
